Description
The FFA-DDS-1 Automatic Door Drop Seal is a medium-duty automatic door bottom seal designed to improve the acoustic, hot smoke and fire performance of timber and metal hinged doors. Featuring a durable aluminium alloy body and an EPDM rubber sealing gasket with an integrated intumescent insert, it provides reliable everyday sealing while delivering enhanced fire protection when exposed to high temperatures.
As the door closes, an adjustable brass actuator button contacts the door jamb and activates the internal spring-loaded mechanism, lowering the sealing gasket evenly onto the floor to create a continuous seal. When the door opens, the gasket automatically retracts, preventing floor contact and reducing wear for smooth and reliable operation.
The integrated intumescent insert expands when exposed to fire, helping to seal the gap beneath the door and reduce the passage of hot smoke, flames and heat. Certified by Global-Mark, the FFA-DDS-1 offers a practical solution for fire-rated doors while improving everyday acoustic and smoke performance. It can be installed as a surface-mounted or semi-rebated seal, making it suitable for both new installations and retrofit projects.
