Description
The CRC Smoke Test® (Part No. 02105) is a specialised aerosol spray designed to simulate smoke and thereby verify the functional operation of both ionisation‑type and photoelectric smoke detectors. It can also help assess if the detector’s sensing chamber is blocked or obstructed.
Key Features
Simulates smoke mist to test detector response (2‑4 ft range) ensuring the sensing chamber works as intended.
Safe for use on both photoelectric and ionisation type detectors.
Non‑staining, no harmful residue, plastic‑safe—meaning it won’t damage detector plastics or interior surfaces.
Long shelf life (‑ up to 10 years) when stored correctly.
Compact aerosol format (net fill 2.5 oz, ~70 g) for easy on‑site use.
Applications
Routine fire alarm maintenance and system checks in commercial, industrial and residential buildings.
Functional testing of smoke detectors to meet inspection standards (such as AS/NZS 1851 in Australia).
Validating that detector sensing chambers are free from dust, debris or blockage.
Use by fire‑safety technicians, building maintenance staff, facility managers, and service contractors.
